During the summer of 2009 I started exploring with black and white photography. The image that I worked from to create this print was taken in a place that is very special to my family and me. This broken-down row boat tells a story of my family and the place where we come together each year. I used a very simple line etch and then multiple stage bites of aquatint to create the painterly values seen in this image.

This print is entitled "Take this sinking boat and point it home."
